5. VG Maloo (1990)

+

Australians have always had a love affair with the utility, and in October 1990, the first HSV version was built.

Making its debut at the 1990 Sydney Motor Show, the VG Maloo (the Aboriginal word for “thunder”) was the star of the HSV stand. Powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine (180kW/400Nm), the Maloo was originally available in Alpine White and Maranello Red (which was the colour chosen for the Motor Show appearance), came with a choice of three exterior graphics decal packs, plus velour interior accents including the sunvisors and door inserts.
