Having become one of Holden’s main strike weapons in the V8 Supercar Championship Series in recent years, Garth Tander is in his fifth season with the Holden Racing Team.
The consummate professional, Garth is greatly respected by his peers for his commitment, highly honed skills and ability to achieve a result, regardless of the situation.
Garth trod a well-worn path to V8 Supercar stardom via early success in karts and Formula Ford single-seaters. Several WA state titles and a national kart title led to Formula Ford school, then, in 1995, to victory in only the fourth race he contested. In 1997 he finally collected the Australian Formula Ford Championship, and in 1998 made his debut in V8's. Three Bathurst wins later and Garth is well and truly entrenched as one of the sports premier talents.
Since joining the Holden Racing Team in 2008, Garth has adjusted well to life in the spotlight in the sport’s most watched squad and, in 2012, is again teamed with James Courtney.
For Garth and his HSV, it’s all work, all play, all day!
