Australia’s leading performance car manufacturer, Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), today released details of its MY12.5 range to coincide with a year-long celebration of its 25th anniversary.

HSV’s MY12.5 line-up includes the return of the ClubSport and Maloo nameplates, as well as upgrades and added value across the range.

“25 years is an important milestone for our company, and we will be looking to celebrate in many ways through the course of the year. From a customer perspective; however, it is the product that matters so we have been working hard to deliver even more value across our range,” said HSV Managing Director, Phil Harding.

Darren Bowler, HSV General Manager of Sales added, “We know we must continue to raise the bar to excite our customers, and our updated range delivers this in spades – new entry level models with exceptional specifications, power-up on our R8 variants and Senator Signature, as well as added value across the range.”

ClubSport and Maloo Return

HSV will re-introduce the ClubSport and Maloo variants as part of its MY12.5 range. These vehicles will sit below their respective R8 level variants and ensure that HSV’s entry level price point remains competitive, while still delivering a full HSV driving experience.

The new ClubSport will be launched at a maximum recommended "drive-away” price of just A$64,990 for the manual version. Similarly, the new Maloo will be available from launch at a maximum recommended "drive-away” price of just A$58,990 for the manual version.

More Power and Added Value for R8 Variants

Maximum power for HSV’s MY12.5 ClubSport R8, Maloo R8 and ClubSport Tourer R8 increases to 325kW. All three variants also receive as standard the 20” SV Performance Forged alloy wheel in Blade Silver (replacing the previous standard 19” wheel), and leather seats also become standard replacing the standard cloth seats of the MY12 variant.

These upgrades are combined with the long list of standard features which the R8 variants are known for such as Enhanced Driver Interface, Competitive Mode ESC, Satellite Navigation, Rear Park Assist with Rear Camera, as well as the Hard Tonneau and Sailplane on the Maloo R8.

New factory-fitted options also available include the 20” SV Performance Forged wheels in Gloss Black, and bold “Vector” hood scoops and side vents.

HSV will also make available its 6-piston brake package as an option on Maloo R8 to further strengthen its claim as Australia’s favourite performance ute.

Senator Signature Upgrade

Senator Signature also enjoys an increase in power to 325 kW thereby retaining its power parity with HSV’s R8 variants. In addition, the inclusion of HSV’s 20” SV Performance Forged allow wheel in Dark Stainless, and Side Blind Zone Alert as standard lifts Senator Signature to an exceptional value for money proposition versus its competitors.

As with Maloo R8, Senator Signature can also be optioned with HSV’s 6 piston brake package.

HSV 25TH Anniversary Content

In addition to the extensive specification upgrades, all vehicles will also feature the unique “25th Anniversary” content such as new HSV 25th Anniversary “start-up” screen (excludes ClubSport and Maloo without EDI option), build plate, internal I.D. plate and sill plates (excludes Maloo and Maloo R8).

Pricing

“We’re confident the return of the ClubSport and Maloo variants to the HSV range will keep our offer extremely competitive, and we like the way these vehicles measure up in the market place with such great drive-away prices,” said HSV’s General Manager of Sales, Darren Bowler.

“We have also upped the ante across the rest of our range. For example, we know many of our R8 customers are looking for 20” wheels and leather - not to mention more power - and these are now standard. With the extra value we are offering, now is a great time to be visiting your HSV dealer,” explained Bowler.

HSV’s MY12.5 range begins production on August 13.
