Australia’s leading performance car manufacturer, HSV, today released details of a limited edition ClubSport R8 model it will introduce in September to celebrate the final build of its 340kW, 6.2 litre LS3 V8 engine.

Inspired by HSV’s racing heritage, the ClubSport R8 Track Edition will feature styling, content and performance enhancements that are sure to resonate with true motor-sport enthusiasts.

Styling will be based off HSV’s supercharged ClubSport R8 LSA model but with limited edition content including 20” “Blade” forged alloy wheels finished in Dark Stainless, and yellow AP Racing forged 6-piston brake calipers, both, until now, the sole domain of HSV’s iconic GTS.

Pitch black fender vents and mirror scalps, black door surrounds and shadow-chrome quad exhaust tips will deliver added aggression while the vehicle’s track credentials will be further enhanced with upgrades to its performance suspension. Spring and damper rates have been stiffened to reduce body-roll and further improve corner-entry response and, with the Hyperflow Performance spoiler, will further accentuate the vehicle’s track bias.

The interior, too, will mirror the model’s supercharged counterpart but with leather-clad sports bucket seats and a suede-wrapped sports profile steering wheel. Unique exterior badging, sill and I.D. plates, and individual build numbers, will further enhance the vehicle’s exclusivity.

With Recommended Retail Pricing to start from just A$68,990, and with production to be limited to only 150 vehicles (plus 6 for New Zealand), the Company expects all vehicles to be snapped up well in advance of their build.

“Given the unique track-inspired content, the sharp pricing and the fact that these will be the very last LS3 ClubSport R8’s ever built, we’re anticipating strong demand”, said HSV’s Managing Director, Tim Jackson.
