Holden Special Vehicles, the luxury and high performance car company, today announced the appointment of Scott Grant as the new Managing Director of the HSV, HSVi and Holden by Design businesses.

Chairman John Crennan said the appointment represented just the company’s third Managing Director in the 20 year history of HSV and was made after an extensive search, designed to unearth an individual who could continue the evolution and growth of the brand and the business.

“Scott Grant is an outstanding automotive leader and his experience in being a part of the success of the luxury Lexus brand in the Australian and American markets was one of the major contributing factors to his appointment,” John Crennan said.

“The HSV Board established a number of key priorities and attributes for the successful candidate. This included extensive experience in prestige/premium vehicle marketing and distribution. We also wanted someone with a thorough understanding of the dealer network, in particular the Sydney market.”

Scott Grant joins HSV after an almost 20 year association with Toyota, including four years in the United States. His most recent role was as Divisional General Manager (Group) – Lexus, Logistics, Export and Vehicle Services.

He is excited at the prospect of relocating with his family to Melbourne to take up the Managing Director position.

“When you think of iconic Australian brands, Holden Special Vehicles is right up there – I am looking forward to joining the company at a time when its sales success is taking the car company to a new level,” he said.

Scott begins with HSV in mid May, but will spend two days a week in a familiarisation program at Clayton prior to his official commencement.

John Crennan, who continues as HSV Chairman, paid tribute to outgoing Managing Director Phil Harding who will become Director of Export Programs, fulltime, following today’s announcement.

“This was flagged in January of this year when we commenced the search for a new Managing Director and allows Phil to use his base in the United Kingdom to seek new markets for the HSV brand,” John Crennan said.

“He has done an outstanding job bedding down the introduction of the new E series, which has been a runaway success. He will now be focused on developing new export opportunities for HSV.”
