HSV Launches 2019 Chevrolet Camaro Range

HSV today lifted the covers off its 2019 Chevrolet Camaro line-up, revealing an upgrade to its 2SS model and the introduction to the range of the LT4-powered ZL1 super-car.

A brand synonymous with higher performance, HSV is re-engineering the legendary Chevrolet Camaro for Australia and New Zealand markets; the first manufacturer to do so with full volume compliance.

MY19 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS

Upgrades to the 2SS take this model to a higher plane and include:

The availability of a 6-speed manual with Active Rev Matching and Launch Control
The availability of a 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission with Custom Launch Control, Line-Lock and Lift-Foot Gear Hold technology
New front-end styling including the fascia, grille, dual element LED head-lamps, functional extractor-style hood and a “flow-tie” open bow-tie grille emblem
New rear fascia and LED tail-lamps
New 5-spoke 20” alloy wheels
Next generation Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system
Rear camera mirror
Head-up Display
Forward Collision Alert

These upgrades add to an already exceptionally well-specified package.

Power and performance will continue to be delivered by a 6.2L Generation V LT1 Direct Injection V8 engine generating up to 339kW of power and a lofty 617Nm of torque.

Featuring Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management, the LT1 offers efficiency when you want it and an abundance of power when you need it.

The vehicle’s Independent Rear Suspension provides a dynamic connection to the road with stopping power delivered by light-weight and track-tested Brembo front & rear performance brakes.

The premium interior of the Camaro 2SS delivers the perfect marriage of form and function. It starts with power-adjustable heated and ventilated leather-trimmed front sports bucket seats for optimum comfort and support, complemented by a heated, leather-wrapped, flat-bottom sports-profile steering wheel for ultimate grip.

Dual zone automatic climate control, a 9-speaker Bose premium audio and 24 colour Interior Spectrum Lighting enhance interior ambience while the Driver Mode Control blends exhilaration with innovation, offering four distinctive drive modes – Tour, Sport, Track and Snow/Ice – that deliver four radically unique driving experiences.

The ZL1 challenges the most advanced sports coupes in the world with unprecedented levels of technology, refinement, track capability and straight-line acceleration.

The ZL1 is the pinnacle of Camaro performance thanks to its supercharged V8 making it the most powerful production Camaro ever built.

While power and torque figures are still subject to local certification, the company expects to confirm ZL1 maximum power & torque in the vicinity of 480kW and 860Nm respectively.

Recommended Retail Pricing of HSV’s MY19 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS will start from $86,990 for the 6-speed manual while the ZL1 will be available from $159,990.

The launch of HSV’s MY19 Camaro range will be staggered over the coming months with the 2SS automatic the first to debut, re-manufacturing set to commence early March at HSV’s Clayton South, Victoria facility.

Production of the ZL1 automatic will commence in April, with build of the manual variant to kick-off in May. Build of the 2SS manual will begin in June.
