HSV owners have benefited from the ‘Data Dot DNA’ anti vehicle theft technology since its introduction across the range in September 2001.

The technology, which applies between 1000 and 10,000 microdots containing details of the car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to various parts of every single HSV built since late 2001, has led to major reductions in insurance premiums for owners. It also gives HSV customers added confidence that in the rare case their car is stolen, authorities have a way of quickly identifying the car even if it has been ‘rebirthed’ or stripped of parts.

After nearly eight years of application, a Data Dot DNA evaluation has shown just how dramatic the difference in theft rates for HSV’s using the security application really is.

In fact, a HSV is more than eight times less likely to be stolen if it has been sprayed with Data Dots!

Just 5.66 of every 1000 HSV vehicles (comparatively) fitted with Data Dot DNA have been stolen, compared to 39.33 per 1000 cars which form a pre 2001 control group.

Of course, HSV W427 owners have an added layer of protection courtesy of DataDot Platinum, which employs “nano technology” developed in conjunction with the CSIRO. This provides a second layer of parts authentication and is only available on the W427.

Datadot DNA provides peace of mind for HSV owners and is just one way the luxury and performance car company is ahead of the pack.
